Norman Kaplan

1937 - 2023

 

Norman Kaplan, 85, of Staten Island, a devoted father, grandfather and great- grandfather, passed away on May 26, 2023, in Staten Island University Hospital South, surrounded by his family. He now joins his beloved wife of 59 years Mollie in heaven.

 

Norman was born on June 20, 1937, in the Bronx, to Harry and Bertha Kaplan and was raised in Brooklyn. On July 21, 1961, he married the love of his life Mollie and had six children. He eventually moved to Staten Island, where he raised his family. Norman had a long career employed by the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 2287.

 

Norman enjoyed spending time with his family. After raising his children, Norman and his wife enjoyed vacationing. He also loved the warm weather, which led him to eventually spend winters in Hollywood, Florida. Norman was a big sports fan, who enjoyed rooting for his beloved Red Sox. He also enjoyed watching Fox News.

 

He is survived by his six children; three sons; Daniel, Hal and Roy, three daughters; Bonnie, Robin and Sandy, sons and daughters-in-law, thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held on May 30, 2023, at Goldstein Funeral Chapel, followed by a burial at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
