Obituary of JACK ADAMOWSKY
Jack Adamowsky of Edison, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at his home on July 7, 2024, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born to Arlene and Seymour Adamowsky March 31, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York, where he lived until he was eight, when his family moved to Freeport, Long Island.
He graduated from Freeport High School in 1971 where he met his beloved Anne (Dewberry). He graduated from Rutgers University in 1975. Always an entrepreneur, Jack began working for a New York shoe business, Dollar Shoe Outlets, while in high school and went on to include locations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia during high school and continued through college and beyond.
He and Anne married in January 1976 and their first son, Brian, was born five years later, by which time they had moved to Edison, New Jersey, where they continued to build their family, with Michael born in 1986. He worked as a national sales representative for Lucia’s Pizza Manufacturing until his death and owned and operated Bruno’s Pizza Factory in South Plainfield, NJ from 1989-1999.
His passion was sports, rooting for Rutgers and crying with the Mets and Jets. One of his life’s joys was coaching youth softball, encouraging kids to love the game as much as he did.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife Anne; his sons, Brian (wife Rochelle) and Michael; his brothers, Henry (wife Laura) and Larry; his sister, Lori Rosen (husband Jeffrey); his nieces and nephews, Alex Adamowsky (Meg), Melissa Gushue (George), Sara Rosen, Sy Adamowsky, Shelby Adamowsky (fiancé Aaron Espinoza), Christine (Steve) Guarini, Katie (Roy) Shimon, Kelly Calabrese, Andrew De Guzman, Ellie De Guzman, Julia Lait; and numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Jack and Anne hoped that in lieu of flowers, those who wished would donate to either of two charities near to their hearts:
Stad’s Crabfest (stadscrabfest.org), a local charity that is devoted to raising awareness and enhancing the quality of life of those affected by cancer.
The Dravet Syndrome Foundation (dravetfoundation.org), which supports and funds research, increases awareness, and provides support for individuals and families impacted by Dravet Syndrome.
