Obituary of NORMAN HINKES
Our beloved dad Norman Hinkes passed away on February 22, 2024. Born and raised in Newark New Jersey, dad was the captain and starting quarterback of the championship winning Weequahic High School football team, going on to play college football for and graduate from Upsala College with a degree in Business/Accounting.
A business owner during the 1950s and 1960s, dad would go on to become a successful accountant and manager of the payroll departments of a couple of different large corporations, Airco/BOC Group among them. Dad was also very well known for his expertise as a personal income tax preparer handling many clients each year from the early 1950s right up until the very month that he'd passed. A football knee injury led to dad taking up the sport of golf and, like everything else in his life, he'd mastered the game and would go on to become an avid golfer. A loving loyal faithful husband to his late wife Karen, they had a wonderful long marriage together and between them had 6 children, 11 grandchildren and multiple great-grandchildren who'd loved them both dearly. Thank you for everything dad, you will be sorely missed.
