Obituary of DENNIS RICH

Dennis Rich, 81, of Boynton Beach Florida formerly of Cheshire, CT passed away on January 7, 2023.  Dennis was the husband of Anne Rich, father of Tammy Rich Clark and Sandra Rich  and son in law Jonathan Weinstein, and grandfather to David, Matthew, Kayla, Evan, John and Lillian.  He also leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law Darlene and Sid Hochman and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dennis was born in Brooklyn, New York, son of the late Max Rich and Lillian Groman Rich.  He spent the early part of his life in Brooklyn then moved to Flushing Queens where he ultimately attended and graduated from Queens College. Dennis married Anne Jackerson on August 21, 1966. After earning a PH.D in Anatomy and Physiology from University of Houston, Dennis and Anne relocated and moved to Cheshire in 1973 when he began his teaching career at Naugatuck Valley Community College. He taught anatomy and physiology to nursing students there for more than 40 years before he retired.  Dennis was also a tennis coach for Cheshire High School and a familiar face at all local tennis tournaments, and then in his later years at local gyms walking the treadmill and lifting weights usually before anyone else was awake. He had just recently relocated to Florida to what was supposed to be a sunny and bright new adventure.

Dennis lived the life he wanted and spoke his mind. He cared about the health and safety of his family, and it showed in everything he did. He will be very dearly missed and remembered as a loving and wonderful dad and grandpa.
