Obituary of MICHAEL DOVDAVANY

Please share a memory of MICHAEL to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Born in Tel Aviv and raised in Brooklyn, Michael ("Mook") Dovdavany was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Teacher and Friend.

Mike was an elementary school teacher for over 30 years in Brooklyn and also was a religious school teacher at several Synagogues in Staten Island, NY.  He also was the Jewish Culture specialist and de facto "Rabbi" at Cejwin Camps in Port Jervis, NY for many years.  His loving Wife of over 50 years, Eleanor, joined him in these activities, which positively impacted literally hundreds of students over the years.

A staunch defender and lover of the State of Israel, Michael showed his support in more recent years by marching in the Celebrate Israel Parade in Manhattan, NY.

Michael derived strength and joy through his family, always celebrating their personal, academic, professional and religious milestones with "Ruach".

Michael is survived by his Wife, Eleanor Dovdavany (Delray Beach, FL), his Daughter, Naomi Dovdavany (New York, NY) his Son, Daughter-in-Law and Grandsons Dan, Ruth, Jonah & Raffi Dovdavany (Short Hills, NJ) and Niece & Nephew Susan & Lenny Duvdivani (Peru & Florida).

Donations In Memory of Michael Dovdavany may be directed to the Jewish Nation Fund (Donate to Israel | Jewish National Fund-USA (jnf.org).

May the name Michael Dovdavany be for a blessing.
