Leonard Smith, 89 years old of Colonia, died at his residence on July 3, 2022.  Mr. Smith was born in Newark, NJ and lived in Edison from 1975 until 1985 when he moved to Colonia.  He was a graduate of Rutgers University where he majored in Accounting. Thereafter, he worked for the Hess Corporation in Woodbridge for over 30 years as an accountant.  After his retirement from the Hess Corporation is worked for several years for Biacore until he finally retired at age of 70 years old.

Mr. Smith is survived by his loving wife, Arlene and his 2 daughters, Carole Smith and Natalie Harrington and her husband Brad. 

Mr. Smith was a longtime member of Congregation Neve Shalom, Metuchen where his funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 5th at 11:00 AM followed by interment at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge.  Shiva will be held on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and Congregation Neve Shalom.
