Obituary of Adele Shmaefsky

Adele Gross Shmaefsky died in Lancaster, PA on April 23, 2021. She was 96 years old. She was the daughter of Sigmond and Freida Gross, who emigrated from Hungary. Adele was always an active member of her community. Among her many activities, she was a Girl Scout Leader, PTA president, poll worker, and an activist for people with disabilities. She also ran her own retail businesses. She loved movies and Broadway shows. She enjoyed reading, crafting, and was an avid doll collector. She was a devoted mother to her five children; Steven, Philip, Susan, Brian and Allen. She is predeceased by her husband David. In addition to her children, she is survived by her grandchildren; Rachel, Daniel, Nicole, Amy, Peter, Kevin, Katie and Timothy and her eight great-grandchildren.
