Obituary Miriam Leff Miriam “Mimi” Leff of Edison passed away on February 20, 2021, surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was 85. Miriam grew up in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Edison, NJ in 1972 where she and her late husband Seymour raised their children. Miriam left her mark on the community working as crossing guard for Edison Township for 33 years. She loved to play Bingo, watch her grandchildren participate in sports and perform in theater, and would never miss an episode of her favorite soap opera, "The Young and the Restless". Miriam was the type of person who made everyone she came in contact with feel special, regardless of how long she knew them. Her presence was infectious, including her infamous tagline “Hello, Dahling”. Miriam is predeceased by her husband Seymour who passed away in 1993, and survived by her children: daughter and son-in-law Abbey and Gary Brown of Edison, son and daughter-in-law Ricky and Lois Leff of Toms River, daughter and son-in-law Lori and Gennaro Izzo of Kendall Park, and son Gary Leff of Long Branch; grandchildren: Jillian and Seamus George, Jared Leff & Fiancée Samantha Dodson, Justin and Sean Brown, and Jake and Daniella Izzo. She is also survived by her sister Matilda Portner and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
