OBITUARY

Helen Newman (nee Hodes) 94 passed away on November 29, 2018 at JFK Medical Center, Edison, NJ

She was born in London, England where she met and married her husband, an American soldier during WWII. Helen was a survivor of the bombing in London.  They came to live in the United States in 1947.

Helen is predeceased by her beloved husband Seymour, her baby daughter, her sisters Connie and Joyce, brother Monty and her parents William and Jane.

Helen had a love for gardening and very unique rhinestone glasses for which she got many compliments. She was a joy to all who knew her and the life of all parties.

 

She is survived by her sons Bradford (Pam), Ian (Debbie) and Lawrence.  She also leaves behind to cherish her memory her grandchildren Sam (Katie), Spencer (Joelle), Allison (Yossi), Sara and Douglas and her great grandchildren Leah, Dara, Shaindel and Minna Rivka.  Helen leaves many wonderful cousins, nieces, neighbors and friends.

 

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 11:00 am at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ.  Burial will be immediately following services. Shiva will be held Sunday and Monday in Edison NJ and on Tuesday, December 4 in Avon, CT. Arrangements are being handled by Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Edison, NJ.
