Obituary of Irving Goren

Irving Goren died on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Robert Wood John University Hospital, New Brunswick.  He was 79 years old.

Mr. Goren was born in New York City, grew up in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn and lived in Edison for the past 18 years. He was an Adult Literacy Volunteer in both New York and New Jersey for the last 35 years and he taught basic guitar skills at the North Edison library.  Additionally, he was long time member of Temple Emanu El, Edison.

He is survived by his wife, Valerie Slade, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Leslie and Leonard Eng and their children David and Amy.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Temple Emanu El, James St., Edison at 12:30 pm followed by burial at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin, NJ.  Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Lapid Transplant Patient Asst.
