Obituary of Augusta Dorfman

Augusta Brodian Dorfman (Auggie), of Plantation Florida, age 90, passed away in the early morning of May 14, 2018.  She was born to Samuel and Bertha (Pinsky) Brodian in Newark, New Jersey and lived most of her life in Somerset, New Jersey.  She is predeceased by the love of her life, Hal.  Surviving Auggie are her children, Suzanne (Kurt) Friedman, Douglas (Stacey) Dorfman, Cheryl (Edward) Orenstein, Michele (Michael) Meyrowitz, and niece and nephew, Dalia and Howard Brodian; ten grandchildren: Ross, Robin, Liza, Jaron, Alec, Steven, Renee, Samuel, Jeffrey, Elissa, grandnieces Sharon and Jean; ten great-grandchildren: Robinson, Roselily, Chaim, Asher, Lilah, Sadie, Crosby, Isaac, Joshua and Noah, and great-grandniece, Harlow. 

Family was of utmost importance to “Auggiewith2ggz”.  Always glamorous and strong willed, she dedicated her life to being there for all of them, whether caretaking after someone’s illness or applauding at a recital or school play.  After her family, Auggie adored all animals but most especially dogs. 

Funeral services will be on Friday, May 18,12:30 p.m., at Goldstein Funeral Chapel, 2015 Woodbridge Ave., Edison, NJ followed by internment at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Pets in Distress, 521 SW 59^th Street, Ocala, FL 34471.
