Lawrence (Larry) Klein, age 94, of Bergenfield, NJ died on May 30, 2026. Born on October 28, 1931, in Philadelphia, PA, he is pre-deceased by his parents Joseph and Miriam (Mary), his sister Thelma Cohen, and his wife Lorraine Klein. He is survived by his brother, Sidney.  Lawrence is also survived by his oldest son Bruce, his wife Valerie, their children and grandchildren, his two great-grandchildren, and his youngest son Glenn and his husband Sidney Trantham.

Lawrence served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After his service in the military, Lawrence graduated from New York University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education. 

Lawrence had a lengthy career as an industrial arts teacher in Union City, NJ specializing in jewelry making. He also taught a private night school jewelry making class for many years upon his retirement.  Lawrence also enjoyed collecting rocks, minerals, and fossils. 

Graveside funeral services will be held at Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, NY on Monday June 1, 2026, at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the organization of your choice in  honor of Larry. 

Friends and family will be received on Monday, June 1 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 124 New Dover Avenue, Colonia, NJ 07067.
