GARY JON KORB Obituary

Gary Jon Korb, 70 years of age, entered into eternal rest on April 11, 2026 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Nazareth, PA.  Gary fought a valiant fight after being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer one year ago.  He always maintained a positive outlook, even while going through rigorous treatments.

Gary was born in Perth Amboy, NJ, lived in Woodbridge, then moved to Metuchen where he graduated from Metuchen High School.  He went on to graduate from Syracuse University, the New House School of Communication, as a Fine Arts and Film major.  Gary held sales positions at Jem Records, then at Polygram Records.  After leaving the record industry, Gary went to work for the Famous Smoke Shop working as a Copy Writer for their publications.  He was also an Executive Editor, Cultural/Lifestyle Author, Senior Content Marketing Writer and on-air personality for CigarAdvisor.com.  Gary was a cigar aficionado.  Gary always enjoyed meeting up with good friends at Leaf Cigar Bar.  In 2024, Gary retired after a 22 year career in the cigar business.

In his younger years, Gary spent his summers with his extended family in Beach Haven, creating memories not to be forgotten.  Gary was an avid reader and loved to share the stories with others in great detail.

Gary lived for music.  He loved writing music which he performed with his bands, The Wrecks and The Spokes.  Gary was a very talented musician who loved playing the piano and his guitars.  In his earlier years, Gary and his band performed in NYC at Catch a Rising Star, The Back Fence, CBGB, and also at The Dirt Club in NJ.  His most recent performances were with Joe Hough of SumDiff around the Easton, PA area.

Gary was an artist in all aspects of the word.  He established his business Indigo Planet, through which he received copyrights for his music and created visual art to be sold or given as gifts.

Gary was predeceased by his parents, Robert Korb and Emily Rubin Korb.  He is survived by his sons, Eliot and Wyatt Korb, his life partner - Linda Farina and her son Nick and his fiance Erisha, his brother Eric and his wife Susan.  Gary will be deeply missed by his nephews Kyle and Adam Korb.  He leaves behind his beloved uncles and aunts, Dr. Lewis and Leora Korb and Helene and Ronald Kogos, along with his cousins Joseph, Janis, Jay, Alison, Daniella, Dean, Gabriella, David, and Andrew.  He is also survived by his ex-wife Louise Laurelli Montgomery.

Gary had many dear close friends that he considered his family - too many to mention.  His lifelong friend, Keith Boxer, was like another brother to Gary and he was always there to support him.

Gary will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  He will be remembered for having a kind soul who enjoyed being with people and learning from others.
