Frederick Rebarber, 96, of Metuchen, NJ, passed away on October 29 after a brief hospitalization.
Frederick was born and raised in Canarsie, Brooklyn, to parents Irving and Molly Rebarber. With his brothers Karl and David, he grew up in both Brooklyn and Highland Park, NJ.
Frederick attended Rutgers University, and obtained degrees in both business and in pharmacy. While in college he met his future wife, Annette Phillips, with whom he raised a family in Metuchen, NJ. They were married for 73 years.
Frederick had a long career as a pharmacist, and loved getting to know and help take care of his customers. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and bridge. Frederick stayed active as he got older, regularly going to the gym. Frederick and Annette enjoyed socializing with their friends, and especially enjoyed being an active part of their grandchildren’s lives. Frederick was welcoming and open-minded, and enjoyed his life throughout his old age.
Frederick is survived by his wife, Annette; his three children, Beth, Steven and Richard; their spouses, Douglas, Lily and Lucinda; and his beloved grandchildren, Adelaide, Jessica, Leah, Sonja and Isaac.
