LESLIE S. ENG Obituary

Leslie Slade Eng passed peacefully on the evening of Monday, November 10, 2025, after a short struggle with a complicated illness. In her final days she was surrounded by family and visited by many loving friends. Leslie was an independent soul who nevertheless was a devoted sister, wife, and mother. She was an avid reader who collected many paperback romance and historical fiction novels. She enjoyed interior design, color selection, swimming, and dining. Leslie was born in Chicago and briefly resided in Skokie, IL before becoming a Brooklynite. She was proud of her participation in the High School SP program and she took classes at Brooklyn College before attending St Vincent’s School of Nursing in New York City. She pursued a career as a psychiatric nurse, eventually becoming Nursing Care Coordinator. She met her husband, psychiatrist Dr. Leonard Eng at St. Vincent’s Medical Center and they married at the U.N. Chapel in 1986. They started a family in Edison, NJ and convinced their parents and Leslie’s sister and brother-in-law, to move to the Edison area. Leslie was so proud of her children, David and Amy, and Leonard continues to be. Leslie is survived by her husband Leonard, son David, daughter Amy and her fiancé Connor, sister Valerie, niece Alison, and nephew Clayton (and Kristi), and as well as many cousins and other relatives she loved and cherished.
