Lowell Schmidt, 89
Lowell Schmidt, 89, of Boynton Beach, Florida, formerly of Westfield and Linden, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday morning.
Born and raised in Linden, Lowell later settled in Westfield, where he and his late wife Shirley built their family and shared many happy years until her passing in 2009. In 2016, Lowell moved to Boynton Beach, embracing a new chapter of life in Florida.
Lowell was a talented graphic artist and the proud owner of Lowell Schmidt Art Services for over 50 years. His creativity and passion for modern art shone through his work proudly on display at his home.
A lifelong golf enthusiast, Lowell found joy on the course and played every chance he could, making the sport a central part of his life. He combined his graphic skills and love of the game and published The Jersey Golfer magazine for 17 years.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a dedicated Mason for 65 years. His devotion to family, friends, and community was unwavering. A warm and welcoming soul, Lowell had a gift for connecting with people—wherever he went, he was known, loved, and remembered.
He is survived by his daughters, Heidi Schmidt and Jennifer Manning, son-in-law William Manning, granddaughter Shelby Manning, and his sister, Francine Silver.
Lowell will be deeply missed but remembered with love by all who had the good fortune to know him.
