BARBARA SCHALL

Obituary of BARBARA L. SCHALL

Please share a memory of BARBARA to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Barbara Schall (Maiden name: Lefkowitz) passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, in Langhorne, PA, at the age of 89. Known for her bubbly spirit, warmth, and unwavering love for her family, Barbara was truly a bright light to everyone who knew her.

Born on November 24, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY, Barbara later lived in Newark, Clifton, and Fair Lawn, NJ, eventually settling in Newtown, PA, before her final year in assisted living in Langhorne, PA.  Throughout her life, she held several secretarial positions and worked as an assistant to a chiropractor. But the role she cherished most was that of mother and wife.

Barbara was a devoted den mother during her sons’ Cub Scout years, a lifelong dog lover, and the kind of person whose charm and laughter could light up a room. Her children always came first in her heart, and her love for her family was the steady thread woven throughout her life.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Herb, in 2014, and later by her partner of ten years, Stanley Mendelson — a dear friend of over 50 years who brought joy and companionship into her life after Herb’s passing.

Barbara is survived by her two sons, Brian and Mark; her daughter-in-law, Sharon; her beloved granddaughters, Jenna and Rebecca; and her sister, Miriam.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 7, at Goldstein’s Funeral Home in Edison, NJ. Barbara will be laid to rest at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, NJ.
