
Obituary of VIVIAN E. WEISS
Vivian Elinowitz Weiss, age 95 of Manalapan, NJ, passed away on March 29, 2025. Born in Brooklyn, Vivian lived in Albany, Elmwood Park (formerly East Paterson), Fair Lawn, Pompton Lakes, and Scotch Plains before settling in Manalapan in 2003.
Vivian dedicated over 40 years of her career as a full-charge bookkeeper before retiring in 1992. She was deeply involved in her community, serving as the past president of Brandeis Hadassah in East Paterson and Women’s American ORT in Pompton Lakes. A devoted member of Congregation Beth Shalom in Pompton Lakes since 1967, she cherished her faith and friendships.
Vivian was predeceased by her beloved husband, Irwin Weiss, in 1992, and her dear daughter, Doreen Savran, in 2024. She is survived by her brother, Marvin Ellin, and her sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Debra Weiss of Manalapan and Allan and Donna Weiss of Succasunna. Vivian also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Alycia Hamilton, Malorie Savran, Matthew, Ian, Zachary, Emma, Benjamin, and Jared Weiss, as well as her great-granddaughter, Molly June Hamilton.
Harold and Allan invite family and friends to pay their respects and bid farewell at Beth Israel Cemetery, US Highway 1 North, Woodbridge, NJ, on Monday, March 31st. Please assemble at the administration building at 1:30 PM.
Following the burial, Shiva will be observed at the home of Debra and Harold Weiss, 4 Hopi Court, Manalapan, NJ. Additional Shiva hours will be held on April 1st, from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Vivian’s memory by donating to the Jewish National Fund-USA (jnf.org) and planting a tree in her name, a lasting tribute to her love and legacy.
