Obituary of CARLOS E RODRIGUEZ

Carlos “Charly” Rodriguez passed away on April 28, 2019 peacefully at Roosevelt Care Center, at the age of 62, after a long and courageous battle with Neurofibromatosis (NF1). 

He was a life-long resident of Perth Amboy, NJ until August of last year.

Prior to his disease he was active with the Perth Amboy Little League for many years. Charly was a parishioner of Most Holy Name of Jesus @ La Asuncion, Perth Amboy. for many years where he had served as Trustee, Parish Council member, team member of RCIA and on the Secretariat of the Cursillo Movement.

Charly was predeceased by his parents Vicente & Elena (Caraballo) Rodriguez, sisters Helen Galarza & Letty Rodriguez, brothers Angel & Tony Rodriguez and his godson Joseph Frank Quintana.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory a brother Robert (Jean) Rodriguez, Woodbridge, NJ, sisters Iris Rodriguez & Ivis Rosa and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. He also leaves behind many godchildren who loved and will forever cherish his memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Most Holy Name of Jesus @ La Asuncion.

There will be a wake at La Asuncion 777 Courtland Street, Perth Amboy, NJ on Wednesday May 1, 2019 starting at 5:00 p.m., with a Mass and then a viewing until 9:00 p.m. There will be a Mass of Christian burial on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at the Church, at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will take place immediately after the mass at Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy, NJ.

The family would like to thank all of the compassionate caregivers who helped Charly to live comfortably in the last years of his life, especially his Eucharistic Ministers.  A special thanks to Msgr. John Gordon and Father Nicolas Norena for all their love and concern.
