Edith (Edie) Lee Ford of Metuchen, NJ, formerly Edith Lee Davis, was born in Newark, NJ in 1937 to parents Sarah and Samuel Davis who were Jewish refugees from the Ukraine. She had two older siblings - her brother Bernard Davis of Chevy Chase, MD, and her late sister, Eleanor Hasson. She graduated from Southside High School and married Thomas Henry Ford of Plainfield, NJ, to whom she was married for 25 years. She earned her license and sold real estate for nearly two decades in Middlesex County. She was a founding member of Temple Emanu-El in Edison, NJ.

Edie liked to stay informed about current events. She read the Star Ledger every day without fail, and greatly enjoyed watching Jeopardy. She liked to call in to her favorite talk radio shows as "Lee" and comment on news and happenings. She was passionate about classical music. She was a fierce Scrabble player. Traveling to Israel with her mother and sister, and visiting Russia were two of her most memorable trips abroad.

Edie leaves behind three beloved daughters - Sandra Donofrio of North Brunswick; Sheila Hibberson of Mountainside; and Karen Ford of Jersey City. She also leaves behind four grandchildren - Andrew, Sarah, Jamie and Jake.
